Vitamins for Skin Care

Skin care is essential routine in taking good care of oneself, as it protects or barrier between the internal and external bodily defense. It also serves as our sensation. With unclean skin, it may cause foul smell or skin diseases and may sometimes leads to skin cancer. To know more of skin care to prevent sickness, aside from applying moisturizers or cleansers remember to eat vitamins and minerals.

Here are some vitamins which contribute a lot from the skin to look and feel healthier.

Vitamin A, helps prevents wrinkles or fine lines. This is found in carrots, liver, broccoli leaves, sweet potatoes, whole milk and other fortified foods.

Vitamin B, this is good for sensitive skin. It plays essential role for cell metabolism. Maintain healthy skin and muscle tone. It is added to products as it is well known as retaining skin moisture. Natural sources are potatoes, bananas, chili peppers and tuna. Natural yeast and molasses are good sources of vitamin B. Vitamin B is commonly added to energy drinks.

Vitamin C, known as ascorbic acid. Effective as antioxidant and repairs sun damage and tissues in all parts of your body. Natural sources are from citrus foods. It also has the ability to enhance synthesis of collagen; this is a skin protein which strengthens structure support and energy of the skin.

Vitamin D, also known as sunshine vitamin, this is found in our body cells in the presence of sunlight. It affects skin pigmentation. Natural sources are found on fish liver oils, fatty fish species, mushrooms, yeast and eggs.

Vitamin E, this is the important vitamin in skin care. Functions as an antioxidant. It repairs and heals sun burns. It helps put off radicals, cause tissue damage, harms cells and organs. Helps also prevent aging. This is commonly added to creams and lotions for moisturizing ability. Natural sources are found in corn, nut, seeds and vegetable oils.

Those are little bit information how vitamins helps in skin care. These vitamins are mostly used and added on beauty products. But we must see to it we have good healthy diet and regular exercise.
